Is online therapy as effective as in person?

1 min read

Over the past few years, online therapy has become an accessible and sustainable option for many clients. Still, the same question comes up again and again: “Can a session over a screen really work as well as meeting in person?”

What the research suggests

Studies indicate that, for many common difficulties — particularly anxiety and depression — online therapy can be supportive in ways comparable to in-person work. What tends to matter most is not whether you meet on a screen or in the same room, but the quality of the trusting relationship between client and therapist.

What online therapy makes easier

  • Access: If it’s hard to reach the right specialist where you live, meeting online removes the distance.
  • Continuity: Travel, a move, or a busy schedule don’t have to interrupt your process.
  • Comfort: Connecting from your own safe space can make it easier for some people to open up.

A few things that help

To get the most out of online therapy, all you really need is a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection. Before we begin, we’ll consider together what way of working suits you best.

Every process unfolds differently from person to person — we can find the path that fits you, together.

Please note: sessions are currently conducted in Turkish.
